World-class deposits of high purity cryptocrystalline magnesite
Our magnesite deposits are located in Euboea island at the area of Mantoudi, which has been well-known for its world-class magnesite deposits since 1833.
The deposits contain high purity, boron free, low iron magnesite of cyprocrystalline (amorphous) nature with small crystals of 1-5μm size. Typically, they are snow-white in color and show conchoidal fracture. In terms of mineralization, magnesite is of the fracture-filling type which occurs as veins along faults, joints and other fractures.
Our concessions cover a total area of 404 Km² in Euboea island and 56 Km² in other places of Greece.
Mining takes place in two main areas (Gerorema & Kakavos), where we operate underground and open pit mines with 2 in situ beneficiation plants very close to our Mantoudi industrial facilities.

Industry-leading processing technology

With an industry-leading processing technology, we ensure the quality and uniformity of our magnesia products in a sustainable manner complying with strict environmental health and safety standards.
Advanced magnesite beneficiation capabilities through state-of-the-art X-ray transmission technology (XRT) ensure high separation performance in sorting magnesite. By exploiting Artificial Neural Networks and Deep Learning approach, data precision and sorting efficiency is further enhanced.
Our annual production capacity is 120,000 tons of magnesia products consisting of:
- Multiple Hearth Furnace (HERRESHOFF) with an annual capacity of 60,000 tons of Caustic Calcined Magnesia products. This type of furnace ensures fully calcined and uniformed highly reactive grades with controlled specific surface area.
-Rotary Kiln with an annual combined capacity of 60,000 tons of Dead Burned Magnesia /Caustic Calcined Magnesia products.
